Manage customer reviews

Nune reviews are tied to a real paid order or confirmed booking. Customers receive a private, expiring link, and their email address is never displayed on the website.

Set up reviews

  1. Open Reviews in the CMS menu.
  2. Enable reviews for Products, Booking Pages and Events as required.
  3. Keep Approve reviews before publishing selected if you want to check every review first.
  4. Choose the default layout, order and number shown.
  5. Choose which content pages should display their reviews automatically.
  6. Choose whether customers can add photographs and whether visitors can filter by rating.
  7. Set when the single reminder becomes available, then save the settings.

Send a review request

The review dashboard lists eligible product orders and past confirmed bookings or events. Select Send review request beside the customer. Nune uses the protected Review request system email template and creates a secure link that can be used once.

Product requests become available after an order is paid, shipped or completed. Booking and event requests become available when a confirmed booking date has arrived.

If the customer has not responded, Send reminder becomes available after the configured number of days. Nune permits only one reminder for each invitation and records when it was sent.

Review photographs and helpful votes

Customers can attach up to the number of photographs configured in Review settings. Nune accepts JPG, PNG and WEBP files up to 5 MB each, resizes large images and holds them with the review for moderation. Published photographs open in the website lightbox.

Visitors can select Helpful once per review. The public count and the combined helpful-vote total appear in review analytics.

Import an existing testimonial

Open Import a testimonial, choose the product, Booking Page or Event, and enter the original name, wording, rating and source. A source URL is optional. Imported content is always shown as Unverified testimonial and can never receive the Verified badge.

Use this only for genuine feedback you are entitled to reproduce. Do not present imported testimonials as verified purchases.

Import reviews from another platform

Select Import reviews on the Reviews dashboard and upload a CSV, TSV or JSON review export. Map the source columns to the Nune review fields, then preview the results before importing. A single-product file can be assigned entirely to one product. Overall feedback and reviews of one-off work can instead be imported as General review — not assigned to a product. If the reviews identify an order rather than a product, you can also upload companion order CSV files and map their order and product-reference columns.

Nune first matches an external product reference to a saved source mapping, stored Etsy Listing ID, product slug or exact product name. Any unmatched or multi-product orders are held for manual allocation. Each unresolved group can be assigned to a product, kept as a general review, or skipped, so one import can contain a mixture of product and general reviews. Confirmed single-reference product allocations are remembered for later imports from the same source. Unresolved and invalid rows are skipped, and importing the same export again does not create duplicates.

Bulk-imported reviews are always labelled Imported review with their source and never receive the Nune Verified badge. They are placed in Awaiting approval by default. When an imported row has no review title, Nune creates one from the first eight words of the review text and adds an ellipsis when more text follows.

Paragraphs and line breaks are retained during import. Nune recognises multiline CSV fields, JSON line breaks, escaped \\n sequences, HTML break tags and Unicode paragraph separators, then stores them as normal line breaks for display.

WooCommerce product reviews can also arrive with a WordPress XML import from the main Import screen. Choose to import them automatically with their products, hold them for separate assignment, or exclude them. Automatic imports retain source moderation and verified-purchase information. Separate assignment opens this Reviews importer after the content job finishes, suggests the imported products, and lets each group be reassigned, made general, or skipped; these manually allocated reviews are unverified and await approval. Both routes deduplicate repeat imports using the source review ID. See Import content from WordPress or a data file.

Review analytics and rating filters

Open Review analytics to see new reviews in the last 30 days, invitation conversion, helpful votes, rating distribution and results by review type. The dashboard filter can narrow management results to one rating. When public rating filters are enabled, visitors can select All or one to five stars above each review list.

Approve or respond to a review

Open Reviews, find the submission, choose Published, then select Update review. You can also feature it or add a public business response. Reject, archive or mark spam when a review should not appear publicly.

For a product or general review, the expanded Manage panel also includes Review destination. Use it to correct an imported match by choosing another product, or change the review to a general review with no product.

To update several reviews together, select their checkboxes, choose an option under Manage selected, then select Apply. Bulk actions can publish reviews, move them back to pending, feature or unfeature them, reject them, mark them as spam, or archive them.

Never edit a customer's wording to change its meaning. If a review raises a problem, use the response field to address it clearly.

Display reviews with shortcodes

Automatic display is normally easiest. To place reviews elsewhere, use:

[reviews type="product" id="12" layout="cards" limit="6" order="newest"]
[reviews type="product" id="12" rating="5"]
[reviews type="site"]

The type can be product, booking, event or site. Use site for general reviews that are not assigned to an item. To show only the average rating and count:

[review-summary type="product" id="12"]

Both are available in the Shortcode picker for page content and footers.

A link cannot be reused and expires after the number of days set on the Reviews screen. A reminder refreshes the secure link, but can be sent only once. If a completed, revoked or expired invitation needs further attention, contact the customer outside the automated review flow rather than repeatedly emailing them.
