Create product add-ons

Add-ons are reusable extras purchased with a product, such as gift wrapping, personalisation, installation or priority service. They are different from variations and options because they supplement the chosen product rather than defining which version is being bought.

Create an add-on

  1. Open Shop > Add-ons.
  2. Enter its name and an optional description or image.
  3. Choose a fixed price or a percentage of the selected product price.
  4. Choose whether it is taxable, required, allows its own quantity, or has limited stock.
  5. Assign it to all products, selected categories, or individual products.
  6. Select Create Add-on.

Required add-ons must be selected before a product can be added to the basket. If quantity is enabled, its quantity applies to each product unit. Stock is checked again at checkout and only reduced after successful payment.

Edit or remove an add-on

Open Shop > Add-ons, then select Edit beside an add-on. Removing an add-on stops it appearing on products, but its name, price and quantity remain recorded on existing orders.

Which product feature should I use?

  • Use the main product for the standard item being sold.
  • Use an option for a choice within that item, such as Framed or Unframed.
  • Use a variation for another purchasable version with its own price, stock or shipping, such as Print or Digital.
  • Use an add-on for an extra purchased with the chosen version.
  • Use a bundle to discount a defined group of complete products bought together.
