Archive or delete a website safely

Open the website's Settings, then choose Archive or delete. Only the account owner can submit either request.

Both choices affect the selected website only. They do not delete the Nune account or another website owned by it.

Archive a website

Archiving takes the website offline and preserves a safety backup. Use it when the website may be restored later.

The website remains on the account dashboard while its safety backup is pending. Once Text Align verifies the backup and releases the slot, the archived website is removed from the dashboard and the slot becomes available for reuse. Archiving does not start a 30-day deletion deadline and does not automatically purge the retained website data.

  1. Confirm that you selected the correct website.
  2. Download an export first when you need your own copy.
  3. Type ARCHIVE in the confirmation field.
  4. Select Request archive.

Delete a website

A deletion request first deactivates the website and queues a safety backup. The website remains recoverable for 30 days, so Nune does not immediately destroy its files or database.

As with an archive, the website remains on the dashboard while its safety backup is pending. It is removed from the dashboard when Text Align verifies the backup and releases the slot; the separate 30-day deadline controls when permanent data deletion may occur.

After the 30-day recovery deadline, authorised Nune staff can permanently delete the retained website data. Nune first removes and verifies the website's active Cloudflare R2 media and private digital-product files, then removes its CMS database and local files. If active-storage cleanup cannot be verified, the database deletion does not continue.

Independent private media and digital-product backups are not removed during this cleanup. They are protected for 365 days from creation and are then scheduled for automatic deletion. Digital-product files must have a verified protected copy before permanent deletion can continue. Backups are restricted to security, disaster recovery and restoration and are not used for ordinary website delivery.

  1. Confirm the website and domain carefully.
  2. Type DELETE in the confirmation field.
  3. Select Request deletion.

The website slot remains reserved while the backup is prepared. It can then be reused without purchasing another slot. Slot add-ons are retained by default and remain attached to that slot until you transfer or cancel them.

Restoring an older website never overwrites a different website currently occupying the slot. Nune restores it to an available slot or asks you to make one available first.
