Media and galleries
Use the Media Library
The Media Library stores reusable images, videos, audio and files for your website.
Upload media
- Open Media > Media Library.
- Drag files onto Upload new media, or select the upload area to browse your device.
- Select Upload selected files and keep the page open until uploading and processing finish.
For a video, choose the section to keep and the thumbnail frame when prompted. Large videos take longer to upload and process.
Audio uploads can be MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, AAC, FLAC or audio-only WebM files up to 100 MB. To place audio in content or the footer, choose Audio in the Shortcode picker and select the file from the Media Library. Playback controls are included by default. Audio files are not included in image galleries.
PDF documents and ZIP archives can be up to 50 MB. They are stored without extracting their contents, delivered as forced downloads, and are not included in image galleries.
Add a file download to a page
- Upload the PDF or ZIP file to the Media Library.
- Open the page, post or product you want to edit.
- Open the Shortcode picker and choose File download.
- Select the file, enter optional button text and choose whether to show its download count.
- Insert the shortcode and save the content.
Each public click passes through Nune before the file is downloaded. The file's lifetime total can be shown on the button, and date-range totals are listed under Analytics > Downloaded files. Downloads made directly from the Media Library administration screen are not included.
Edit media details
Select an item to open its details. You can update its title, alt text, caption and description, then select Save details.
Use concise alt text to describe the purpose of an image to someone who cannot see it. Leave it empty only for a purely decorative image.
The ID shown with the file details can be selected to copy a ready-to-use media reference for a shortcode.
Organise media with albums
Albums help organise Media Library items without moving, duplicating or changing their public file addresses. One item can belong to more than one album.
- Select New album and enter a name.
- Open a media item and tick the albums it should belong to.
- Select Save details.
- Use All albums at the top of the library to show one album at a time.
To remove an album, select it in the filter and choose Delete album. This removes the album only; its images, videos, audio, PDFs and ZIP files remain in the Media Library and wherever they are already used on the website.
Manage several items
Use Select media for bulk downloads or deletion. Show unused helps find files that Nune does not currently detect in content.
Deleting media can break pages, products, galleries or sharing images that use it. Check carefully before confirming.
